A Welding Class Project for SCRS at Pro Spot Tennessee:

Pro Spot Hosts SCRS at their Tennessee Training Facility

April 15, 2019 – Starting off a week of industry meetings and events, a group from the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) took an evening to stop by Pro Spot’s new Training Facility outside of Nashville, TN.

Pro Spot’s team put together an interactive welding prop that combined most of Pro Spot’s joining processes into one. Participants built their own business card holder using Spot Welds, Self-Piercing Rivets, Blind Rivets, MIG Brazing, Aluminum MIG Welding and Aluminum Studs.

Brett Bailey, Chairman, SCRS, “We at SCRS are so appreciative of Pro Spot opening up their facility here in Nashville to our board. It was one of the most unique receptions I’ve personally had the opportunity to be part of. We are really appreciative of the Pro Spot team having the foresight to invite us all in, and to use it as an opportunity to make a fun and creative learning opportunity. While many of our board members hold and maintain credentials alongside their technicians, there are others in the group who either do not have technical experience, or don’t get to exercise it regularly."

"We were able to learn from the skilled trainers at Pro Spot and from our peers on the board in a really fun and impactful way,” added SCRS Executive Director Aaron Schulenburg. “I think everyone took something from it, and while the tools were easy to operate and learn on, it was a fantastic reminder for me personally of the time invested by our industry’s technicians to build the skill sets necessary to execute gorgeous welds in the repair process!”

Ryan Swanson, Pro Spot’s Training & Development Manager, “It was great hosting the SCRS group and getting some quality time to network and speak with like-minded people that care about the present and future of the collision industry..."

..."As Pro Spot continues to grow and adapt to the technology changes that affect how we safely repair vehicles, opening a training center in TN is a great way to continue to support not only our customers but also the collision industry as a whole! Times are changing and we need to keep up!”

The Training Facility opened in June of 2018 and is available for groups, classes, training and more. “People are still coming and stopping me to tell me how great it was to get hands-on time doing that project,” exclaimed Mike Davis, Pro Spot’s Regional Sales Manager and Nashville Training Center Operator.

A $14,000 Morning and More...

What a morning it’s been at CIC in Nashville, TN. Two presentations awarded some lucky local students with some great prizes.

In honor of the March Taylor Fund, 6 students were awarded fantastic toolboxes stocked with hand-selected tools chosen by Toby Chess.

Shortly after the crowd quieted for a fantastic presentation. A student from Lincoln Tech, Zach Stephens was presented by the I-CAR Nashville Committee and the Collision Repair Education Foundation a check for $14,000, the exact funds to clear his school debt!

Gathered in the large room at CIC, people from all ages, all areas, and various stages of their careers in the collision repair industry, agreed to work together to help promote young, fresh minds to grow in the industry.

Day of Welding at Pro Spot with American Honda’s Collision Marketing Department

The Pro Spot jackets went on and the welding helmets were lowered for a day of first-hand welding experience for the Collision Market Department of American Honda Motor Co.

Carlsbad, CA (April 1, 2019) – Pro Spot hosted the Collision Market Department of American Honda Motor Co. this week for some hands-on welding training in their state of the art Training Center in California.

Continually improving their program, American Honda Motor Co. had the Collision Market Department, their “boots on the ground”, visit Pro Spot for first-hand experience in spot welding and MIG welding. “Welding is such a large component of proper vehicle repair and a skill that you need to develop and maintain, this visit will give our team first-hand experience and knowledge as they manage their zones”, explained Rossana Alvarez, American Honda’s Assistant National Manager for Collision Parts Marketing.

The visit not only included hands-on welding training & experience, but also gave everyone a chance to see Pro Spot’s pride as a US Manufacturer in action. From R&D to machining weld caps, powder coating, and assembly, the visitors were able to see how all of the bits and pieces are made and come together to create a Pro Spot product.

“This industry grows when we take the time to learn from each other. Today, was another example of not only learning how to weld, but also a group of people working together to ask questions, seek answers, and brainstorm ideas to improve the industry from all of our perspectives, expressed Ashley Olsson, Pro Spot’s Director of Communication.

Pro Spot International, manufacturers of quality repair equipment for the collision repair industry, hosts tours, meetings and training events at their Headquarters and Manufacturing facility in Carlsbad, CA.
